Full of rust and potential

As I’m praying at one of our outdoor pastor experiences options: Rockbridge Trout Farm, I’m brought to prayer for many pastors in the United States that are leading a church in revitalization or in need of revitalization. Like my ‘84 Silverado, there’s varying opinions people have. Some may think “Scrap that rust bucket,” while others would think “Whoa, look at that ‘ol square body and the potential it has! Look at the patina on the hood!”

Similar thoughts float around about churches in need of revitalization too. Some say “The church needs to cease to exist because there’s no hope,” while others say “Look at the potential for that congregation to reach a community they’ve been a part of for so long”.

Our heart at Teamness for pastors in this world is to be an encouraging support at the hard work God’s called them to revitalize. We personally know how important it is to have someone outside your context to walk beside you during that ministry work and we hope to start that walk alongside many pastors by offering a pastors getaway experience in Nashville TN and Branson MO. Our prayer is that they leave not only refreshed and ready to continue the work God’s given them but to leave with friends that will continue to encourage and equip them in that work.

Tim Reese

Tim and Lyndsey Reese are high school sweethearts who now get to raise two lovely girls to know and love Jesus.  Over a 15 year period, they have served in a variety of ministry roles from assistant youth leaders, youth pastor, pastoral intern, associate pastor and lead pastor. They have experience serving in both large urban churches and small rural churches. Through these experiences, Jesus was shaping their calling of shepherding.

They specialize in coming alongside pastors and their spouses with the support and care needed to lead healthy congregations. They are a shepherd to the shepherds. Tim leads revitalization retreats and cohorts to help pastors head into a thriving direction.
